Tissue pom poms

Hey all, I'm back! It feels so good to get back into the swing of things again. I've really missed blogging. I had a wonderful recovery and I'm starting to feel like myself again.

To celebrate, I want to share a project with you that I did for my son's 2nd birthday party. These are super fun and easy to make. I love how they turned out!

So, let's get started!

Spring/Summer break

If I have any readers out there, I'm going to be taking a break from blogging on Oops. I am super happy I have a few followers {don't know if even my followers read my blog.. sad!}. I hope you guys don't give up on me. I still have so many projects to start, and finish, but it's been kinda difficult living here at my mom's. There's no point, really, in starting new projects. I'm sad to say I haven't crafted in so long. Last time I crafted I made a cute Spring yarn wreath for my Bff for her birthday, but even then I didn't even take a picture. Drrr. I'm not really with it these days. That wreath took me probably a month to finish. I just didn't have it in me. I would work on it a little at a time. Bless my Bff's heart, she was so patient.

I look forward to getting back into the swing of things in a few months. I'm having a major surgery on May 10, and then about 2 months of recovery. So, wish me luck! See you on the other side of the rainbow :) xo

It's great to be 8!

Last weekend my cute little neice, Ally, was baptized. I wanted to give her a gift that was thoughtful and out of the ordinary. I didn't give myself much time, but I came up with an idea to photoshop one of her professional pics in her white dress onto a picture of the Salt Lake Temple. Me being a little computer illiterate when it comes to things like that, had to get help from the hubsy. He is a genius when it comes to photo editing and "crap" like that :) I think the picture turned out great! Then I framed it in a simple silver frame. What a fun baptism gift, right?!!

Cardboard Chandelier

A few weeks ago a friend and I were invited to a craft workshop to make mini cardboard chandeliers. They were precut, so we just had to pop them out and paint them. Couldn't have been easier! I painted mine a shimmery gold and then bedazzled it with some little jewels. It turned out really cute. It would be fun to make another one and paint it pink to put in the pink powder room I've always dreamed of having... {sigh}, one day!

The month of Love

I don't know about you, but Valentine's Day always seems to creep up on me. It's hard getting into the Valentine's spirit since we aren't in our own place, but I've seen so many cute Valentine crafts on Pinterest that I've been dying to make. I got together with a couple of my girlfriends yesterday and we crafted our little hearts out, while keeping one eye on the little munchkins, of course! We made a Valentine banner with three simple and pretty dang cheap items. We bought some Valentine-y fabric, burlap, and twine. It was so simple to make, and I love how it turned out!

New Year, New Blog!

Me and a few friends of mine have a new blog called The Modest Wardrobe. This is a collaborative blog with helpful tips and ideas encouraging women to dress modestly, according to our fashion beliefs. While we are not experts, we hope to inspire women of all ages, backgrounds and heritages to feel confident in modesty and to see that you CAN be fashionable while dressing in this manner. Many times in our society, modesty is looked at as dull, drab, and old fashioned but we at The Modest Wardrobe think otherwise. Modest fashion can be fun, trendy, stylish, elegant and sophisticated.

At The Modest Wardrobe you'll be able to see before and after photos, guest bloggers, read personal struggles & triumphs, tips & tricks, and DIY. We'll also include many examples for dressing during pregnancy & post partum, swimming, sports, date nights, and church.

We hope you enjoy reading it, and feel free to follow us and add a button to your own blog! If you have any suggestions or would like to be a guest blogger, let us know... we love feedback.
