Happy Halloween!

I put up halloween decorations weeks ago, but I'm just now getting to blog about it. I was feeling a little crafty this halloween and had fun decorating this year! I hope you all have a safe and haunting halloween!!

I printed this cute free halloween printable online and then painted a plain black frame with clear glitter and framed it. I love birds, and this black crow is perfect for halloween!

My halloween mantel

Again, I printed this free halloween printable and then framed it. I love the look of the glitter on the black frame, so cool!

Geh, this picture is so dark. I made a "Boo" banner out of some burlap I had lying around and hung it on the front door.

Last, I spray painted these little carvable pumpkins I found at Dollar Tree with silver spray paint (a project I did for my mom's b-day party) and then sat them on a couple candle holders I had in the garage that were collecting dust.

Book Page Topiaries

What do you do with leftover book page punchouts from a previous project? Well, you make a fun topiary! I had painted the three pots several months ago and just had them sitting on my piano, empty. Now I have something to fill them with! I had a punching party one night and punched a whole book (The Devil Wears Prada!) and then gave the punch back to my friend. Unforuntaely, I was only able to finish two topiaries. I didn't want to ask to borrow the punch again, since I'd had it longer than I promised. So, I need to figure out something fun to do with the third topiary. I love the way they turned out.

Exciting news!

Soooo, I was asked to be a guest blogger on a friend's craft blog. This might sound super nerdy, but I was so excited! Little old me, who has a craft blog of my own, with ZERO followers, a measly little scrap in the ginormous blogging world... ME. Of course I said yes! So, check out my first special guest blogging appearance here. Super-duper cool, I'm pretty much famous!

M.I.A.

If there is anyone who follows this blog, anyone, anyone?? {sound of crickets}) then I'm sorry I haven't been keeping up with it. I don't know if it's because I'm not feeling very crafty lately, or if it's because we've had a super busy, but FUN summer. Either way, I'm sorry. So, to make it up to you, I've added a couple new posts. There will be more to come, because my crazy self has decided to update the look of our front room. Right now, it's just so blah and boring. So, stay tuned for some fun and exciting new projects!

Freaking Awesome Paper Cone Wreath

So, I've been seeing paper cone wreaths popping up all over the blogging scene and I've been dying to make one. I just love wreaths, they are so fun and easy to make. I would love to make one for every holiday. It's going to happen... I just need to find the time :). For this wreath, I had everything on hand except the punch and the 12x12 scrapbook paper. I borrowed a scallop punch from a friend and picked up some double-sided scrapbook paper at Michaels and I got to work. This was a BIG project, a lot more work than I anticipated. The total cost for my freaking awesome paper cone wreath, $3. Not even kidding! Below are pictures of my finished wreath. I am pretty much in love with it.

A Little Sprucing

If anyone is like me, I get so bored of my decor (and fast). I got tired of the furniture and overall look in our front room. I wanted to change it up, without spending any money on new furniture. I decided to paint a craig's list gem I found a few years ago. I've been wanting to paint it, I just didn't know what color. I'm going for kind of a vintage cottage feel. I just want it to feel more homey and comfortable. The dark cappuccino is just not doing it for me anymore. {side note, the end table I painted was NOT cappuccino, but my other 2 side tables are. I will save that for another post}. So, once I finish the whole room, I will reveal it. I have a couple other projects for my front room I'm working on that I'm so excited about. Stay tuned! For now, here are the before and after pics of my new end table!

A touch of color

I wanted to add a little more color to Jett's room, so I painted some animals on canvas and hung them on the wall in his room. They turned out okay, although the hippo kind of looks like an anteater...or a giant pumpkin. Whatever! I don't think Jett minds :) My mom and I made the pom-pom balls hanging above the changing table for my baby shower. I love the way they turned out. It was super easy, and Jett likes to look at them while I change his diaper. Who needs to buy an expensive mobile to put above the crib, when you can make your own??
